Terms of Service

Effective date: 22 May 2026 Last updated: 22 May 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms“) govern your use of the iDream Pro mobile application, its associated back-end services, and any website operated in connection with the app (together, the “Service“). The Service is provided by Digital Movement Limited, a company registered in the United Kingdom (“Digital Movement“, “we“, “us“, or “our“).

By creating an account, installing the App, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who can use the Service

You must be at least 13 years old (or the higher age of digital consent in your country, e.g. 16 in parts of the EU) to use the Service. If you are a minor, you may only use the Service with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service you confirm that you meet the age requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

The Service is intended for personal, non-commercial use. Organisations, research institutions or commercial users must contact us for a separate written licence before using the Service.

2. Your account

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your email password, your recovery passphrase and your rescue code (if you generate one).
  • We cannot recover your recovery passphrase or rescue code. Because the Service is end-to-end encrypted, if you lose both recovery factors and lose all devices where the Service is installed, your encrypted content becomes permanently unreadable. This is a deliberate privacy choice, not a bug.
  • You must give us accurate information and must not impersonate anyone.
  • You must not share your account with anyone else. One account per person.
  • You must notify us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

3. How the Service works

The Service lets you record, transcribe, interpret and analyse dreams and mental-wellness journal entries, including:

  • text and voice entries, with voice transcription running entirely on your device (no audio is sent off-device);
  • local on-device speech-to-text powered by the Whisper model, which is downloaded once from HuggingFace.co on first use and stored on your device;
  • AI-generated interpretations and chat via Google Gemini (see Section 7);
  • encrypted cloud sync across your devices via Supabase;
  • optional encrypted iCloud Drive backup (iOS only) — a rolling archive file is written to your personal iCloud Drive Documents folder;
  • soundscape audio sessions streamed from our CDN, which can be unlocked for a session or permanently using credits;
  • export and deletion tools.

We may add, change or remove features at any time, and we may limit the Service to certain regions, devices, OS versions or subscription tiers.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  1. use the Service for anything illegal, harmful, abusive, deceptive or tortious;
  2. submit content that infringes another person’s intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
  3. submit content that sexualises minors, threatens real-world violence, harasses an identifiable person, or is designed to radicalise others to violence;
  4. attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, probe, or test the security or availability of the Service except to the extent that applicable law grants you a non-waivable right to do so;
  5. automate access (bots, scrapers, load generators) beyond what the App’s normal UI allows;
  6. circumvent rate limits, credit allowances, access controls, or subscription enforcement;
  7. use the Service to build, train or benchmark any competing product, large language model, or dataset;
  8. resell, sublicense, or make the Service available to third parties;
  9. upload malware or content that contains executable code intended to run on our infrastructure.

We may suspend or terminate your access for any violation. Serious or repeated violations may also be reported to law-enforcement where appropriate.

5. Your content

5.1 What counts as “Your Content”

Any text, tags, audio, cover images, AI-personalisation answers or other data you submit to the Service is “Your Content“.

5.2 Ownership

You keep ownership of Your Content. We do not claim copyright in your dream entries or recordings.

5.3 Licence to us

So that we can run the Service, you grant Digital Movement a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, copy, store, transmit, process and display Your Content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the Service to you. This licence ends when you delete the content or close your account, except for routine encrypted backups which are overwritten on a 30-day rotating cycle.

5.4 Training

We do not use Your Content to train any AI model, and our upstream AI provider (Google) does not train its generally available models on your API prompts or responses under the paid API terms we use.

5.5 Your responsibility

You are solely responsible for Your Content. Do not put personal data about third parties (especially identifiable minors) into your journal without their consent — including their names, photos, or sensitive facts.

6. Credits, subscriptions and billing

6.1 Free tier

Free-tier users receive a weekly allowance of AI credits that reset on a rolling seven-day schedule. Unused weekly credits do not roll over to the next week. Free-tier access also shows in-app advertisements outside of journalling screens. Credits can be spent on:

  • AI dream interpretations;
  • AI chat messages;
  • soundscape session unlocks (access for one 24-hour period);
  • soundscape permanent unlocks (access on this account indefinitely).

6.2 Paid tier (Pro)

Pro subscribers receive unlimited AI interpretations and AI chat (subject to fair-use rate limits set out in Section 7), cloud backup of encrypted audio, access to all soundscapes, and an ad-free experience.

6.3 Purchasing

All purchases — whether a Pro subscription or a consumable credit pack — are made through the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never take your card details directly. Those stores’ own terms and conditions apply to the payment and to automatic renewal.

6.4 Renewals

Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period, via your App Store or Play Store account settings. You can access subscription management directly from Settings → Account → Manage subscription inside the App. We do not have the technical ability to cancel your subscription on your behalf.

6.5 Refunds

Refund requests for App Store / Play Store purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. Where UK or EU consumer law gives you a statutory refund right (for example, faulty software) we will honour it. For digital content that has already been consumed, the UK’s 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 may be waived when you begin using the purchase immediately — the App will tell you this before confirming the purchase.

6.6 Credit expiry

Purchased credit packs do not expire. Credits you buy remain valid for as long as your account is open. Weekly free-tier credits do not roll over but are not credits you purchased — they reset automatically each week. If you close your account, any remaining purchased credits are forfeited and are not refundable except where required by applicable law.

7. AI-generated interpretations

The Service uses Google Gemini to generate interpretations and chat responses from your dream text. Because large language models are probabilistic:

  • AI output can be wrong, made-up, misleading, out of date, or offensive.
  • AI output is not medical, psychological, legal, financial, spiritual, or professional advice. It is for entertainment and self-reflection only.
  • Do not rely on AI output to make decisions about your health, safety or welfare. If you are in crisis, contact a qualified professional or emergency services.
  • We do not guarantee that the AI will behave consistently across sessions, that it will honour requested interpretation styles, or that the same dream will produce the same interpretation twice.

Pro subscribers receive unlimited AI usage subject to fair-use rate limits that apply to all accounts. If an account is suspended for fair-use violations, contact [email protected].

You are responsible for deciding what, if anything, to do with AI output.

8. Third-party services

The Service integrates with the following third parties. Each has its own terms and privacy policy; Digital Movement is not responsible for their acts or omissions, though we select them carefully and contract with them as processors where they process personal data on our behalf.

  • Supabase — authentication and encrypted cloud storage
  • Google LLC (Gemini API) — AI interpretation and chat
  • Google LLC (AdMob) — advertising (free tier only)
  • Visual Crossing Corporation — historical weather data (optional feature)
  • Apple Inc. (App Store and iCloud) — in-app purchases, receipt validation, and optional iCloud backup
  • Google Play — in-app purchases and receipt validation (Android)
  • Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry) — crash and error reporting
  • Cloudflare / assets.idre.am — CDN delivery of soundscape audio and dream-meaning content
  • HuggingFace, Inc. — one-time download of the on-device Whisper speech-recognition model

9. Intellectual property (ours)

The Service, the iDream Pro name and logo, the app design, the server-side prompt templates, the dream-meaning reference data we author, our source code, and all other material we provide are the intellectual property of Digital Movement (or our licensors). You get only the limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the Service for personal use as described in these Terms. No other rights are granted by implication, estoppel, or otherwise.

Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used without prior written permission.

10. Feedback

If you send us ideas, feedback, bug reports or suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to use that feedback without obligation to you. We still appreciate it.

11. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE”. We do not warrant that:

  • the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components;
  • AI interpretations will be accurate or suitable for any purpose;
  • your data will always be available (you are responsible for your own exports — the App includes a one-tap CSV export for this reason);
  • the Service is suitable for professional, medical, legal or commercial use.

Nothing in this Section limits rights that cannot be waived under UK or EU consumer law, including any statutory rights to a service of satisfactory quality, provided with reasonable skill and care, and fit for the stated purpose.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Digital Movement is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or loss of goodwill.
  • Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims relating to the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you actually paid Digital Movement for the Service in that period and (b) GBP £100.

The above do not apply to:

  • death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
  • any other liability which cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms affects your non-waivable statutory rights as a consumer.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Digital Movement and its officers, employees and contractors from any claim, damage or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of:

  • your breach of these Terms;
  • Your Content; or
  • your misuse of the Service.

This Section does not apply to the extent that the loss arose from our own negligence or wilful misconduct.

14. Suspension and termination

14.1 By you

You may stop using the Service at any time. You may delete your account from inside the App (Settings → Account → Manage account → Delete my account); this removes your server-side data as described in the Privacy Policy. Note that cancelling a subscription and deleting your account are separate actions — cancelling a subscription via the App Store or Play Store does not delete your account.

14.2 By us

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

  • you materially breach these Terms;
  • we are required to by law, a court order, or a regulator;
  • your account is inactive for 18 months and we have notified you;
  • we discontinue the Service (we will give at least 30 days’ notice if we do so, so you can export your data).

On termination, the licences in Sections 5.3 and 9 end, except that we may keep minimal records for legal, tax and anti-fraud purposes.

15. Changes to the Service or these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you in-app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the new Terms. If you don’t accept them, you must stop using the Service and may delete your account.

16. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that if you are a consumer you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the country in which you are habitually resident, and mandatory consumer-protection laws in your country of residence will still apply.

17. Notices

  • Legal notices to Digital Movement must be sent to [email protected].
  • Notices to you will be sent via in-app message or to the email address linked to your account.

18. Miscellaneous

  • Entire agreement. These Terms (and the documents they reference, including the Privacy Policy) are the entire agreement between you and Digital Movement about the Service.
  • Severability. If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest of the Terms remain in force and the unenforceable provision is replaced with an enforceable one that most closely matches the original intent.
  • No waiver. Failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of that right.
  • Assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them to any successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets on the same or better terms.
  • Force majeure. Neither party is liable for failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control (including outages at Supabase, Apple, Google or the public internet) provided it takes reasonable steps to mitigate.
